Performance
and Compatibility
The AirLive WL-5420AP is a 54Mbps Wireless Access Point with outstanding
performance at an very competitive price. Fully compliant with the latest IEEE
802.11g standard, the AP establish high speed wireless network at the
same frequency spectrum as 802.11b. Rated at 17.5dBm output power, users no
longer have to compromise between speed and distance. The antenna
is detachable to allow upgrade to hi-gain antenna. Best of all,
it is compatible with most 802.11g and 802.11b devices.
Nitro Mode Speed Conventionally,
when an 802.11b device is present inside a 802.11g environment, the
performance of the entire wireless network can be brought down to the
same level as the 802.11b speed (or worse). This has been a
particular challenging issue as the wireless networks are based on
sharing architecture. The OvisLink 802.11g family are equipped
with the latest Nitro Mode technology to lessen the b+g collision
problem. Nitro mode adds “RTD/CTS“ packet in front of
the "11g" packets to avoid the collision and the interference
with "11b" clients. Furthermore, Packet Bursting
is used to extend the timing for “11g" traffic. The end
result is higher overall performance in the real world environment. Multi-Function
AP Equipped with a powerful
RISC processor, the AP features advanced multi-function
capabilities. By changing the firmware, it can also
function as a wireless bridge to connect LANs together across
different buildings, floors or areas at 54Mbps speed. The AirLive
WL-5420AP's bridge can operate in point to point and multi-point
mode. Best of all, it now has WDS (Repeater) function to extend
the wireless signal from another AP for extra distance. For connection to the
wireless router, the AP client function is provided. The WL-5420AP's
Bridge and Client mode is defined by SSID instead of MAC address, this
makes it much more compatible with other wireless AP and
routers. Extended
Security Features OvisLink has
gone the extra mile to ensure wireless security. In addition to the
standard WEP encryption, the latest WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) is also
supported for extra security. Hide SSID prevents outside users
from joining the network without knowing the wireless Network's ID.
For Wireless ISP and Hotspot
providers, the AP even provide the 802.1x Radius support. Whether it's for office
or home environment, the AirLive 802.11g family bring you the maximum
performance and security for today's high speed wireless network.
