OVISLINK CORP. ANNOUNCES WLAN SDIO CARD 802.11B TO PDA AND SMARTPHONE
AIRLIVE WL-1100SD
Taiwan, 6th October 2005 –Ovislink Corp., one of the biggest worldwide suppliers for LAN and WLAN equipments, has just announced on the market the AirLive WL-1100SD, an WLAN SDIO Card 802.11b for PDA’s and Smartphone’s. The AirLive WL-1100SD allows the mobile device to access Internet and/or the network present everywhere. Despite it’s reduced size, this card has the same power output of a typical PCMCIA WLAN card. Besides, it consumes much less energy and it has a “Sleep” mode included that uses just 1mA of power when it is active. When connected to a WLAN, this card is normally on the “listening” mode, except when initiates transmissions and/or receptions. The result is portability without compromise of the battery’s lifetime. The drivers to PocketPC 2002/2003, Windows Mobile 2003 and WinCE 3.0/4.0 are supplied to ensure compatibility with most of the platforms. From now on, you may bring your PDA, receiving e-mails and “sailing” on the Internet, wherever you go. The AirLive WL-1100SD is available on the market since November 2005.
